The IBA Basketball team won their third consecutive Dhaka University inter department basketball title, more commonly known as the three-peat in basketball circles, by winning this year’s inter department basketball tournament.

A total of 16 departments participated this time. The first two stages of the tournament were knockout rounds and then top four teams who progressed from the knockouts battled it out in the super 4 league. The top four teams were the Department of Economics, Department of Management, Institute of Information Technology (IIT) and Institute of Business Administration (IBA).Each team played three games in the super four.

 IBA and IIT both won their first two matches, making the match between IBA and IIT the decider. IBA cruised to victory against IIT, the score-line finishing at 54-32. IBA always looked in control of the match never letting their opponents gain momentum.

Ayman Ahmed of IBA won the best player of the tournament award while Tarique Siddique Asif of IIT won the accolade of the highest scorer of the tournament.

Players BBA and MBA both played for the basketball team this year.
