IBA, DU launches ACBA

For the first time in Bangladesh, an Advanced Certificate in Business Administration (ACBA) has been developed and launched under Management Development Program (MDP) of IBA to cater to the demand of the industry for continuous professional development. The first batch of participants consisted of 81 industry practitioners from local and multinational companies, government and non-profit organizations. The inaugural ceremony for the first batch of ACBA was held on 29th June, Friday at IBA.

The president of IBA Alumni Association & Managing Director, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Mr. Nazmul Hasan MP, in his address as a chief guest lauded the leadership role IBA continue to play by introducing innovative programs aimed particularly for management practitioner. He has called upon IBA Alumni both home and abroad to strengthen their alma mater to ensure regional leadership of IBA in business education. Professor G M Chowdhury, Director of the institute, and president of the ceremony expressed his gratitude to the industry to support the participants through sponsorship of the executives and managers for this completely new initiative by IBA. He highlighted that the co-branding of IBA and Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), a SAARC recognized body, has added new dimension to business education in this country. The occasion was also addressed by Chairperson of MDP, Professor Saeed Alamgir Jafar and coordinator of ACBA, Dr. Md. Mohiuddin.

It is to be noted that the program consists of four modules namely Human Resources & Employee Relations, Accounting & Finance for Managers, Marketing in a Changing Environment and Strategic Planning & Innovation Management. The modules will be offered in weekends only and each module will take four weeks.
