Short Bio

Dr. Md. Rezaul Kabir is a Professor of Finance and current Coordinator of the BBA Program at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. Before this, he was the Coordinator of IBA’s Regular and Executive MBA Programs. He received his MSc and PhD degrees from Aston Business School, Aston University, UK. He completed his doctoral degree under the prestigious ˜Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan”. In his more than 15 years of teaching career, he has taught at both national and international academic institutions. Dr. Kabir worked as a sessional lecturer at Aston University, UK, for almost two years. He was a visiting scholar at Queen’s Management School, Queen's University Belfast, UK. He is an Associate Fellow of the Advance HE, UK (formerly known as Higher Education Academy, UK).

Dr. Kabir has been relentless in his pursuit to remain up-to-date with the latest knowledge and research in his field and has participated in many training programs, workshops and conferences in different countries around the world. His principal research interest lies in areas of corporate governance, corporate reporting, corporate sustainability and accountability-related issues. He is currently supervising several MPhil and PhD students in the aforementioned research areas. His research papers have appeared in internationally refereed journals. He has also worked on collaborative international research projects. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Business Administration.

An active promoter of industry-academia collaboration, Dr. Kabir sits on the boards of several companies and educational institutes. He has also undertaken consultancy assignments on a wide range of management issues. A few of his clients include the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP), Ministry of Finance; Access to Information (a2i) Program, Prime Minister's Office; Police Reform Program (PRP), Ministry of Home Affairs.

Area of Research Interest

His principal research interest lies in areas of corporate governance, corporate reporting, corporate sustainability and accountability-related issues. He is currently supervising several MPhil and PhD students in the aforementioned research areas.
