Short Bio

Kaniz Fatima is working as a Lecturer at Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. She completed her MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. Her Bachelor of Science was in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Before joining IBA, she worked in the EEE department as a Lecturer in a renowned private university and afterwards as a Senior Lecturer in the BBA department of another reputed private university of Bangladesh. She is interested in research work related to real life problems and industrial phenomena as well as application of machine learning algorithms to understand big datasets, data patterns, and behavior to reach data-driven decisions.

Capital structure, Machine learning, Behavioral Finance, Social Science, Renewable Energy.

Research Grants and Awards

1. Best presenter award for the research work and poster presentation on “Classification of Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic Persons Based on Time Domain Features Extracted from EEG Signals.” In the 1st WIE Workshop of Electrical and Computer Engineering 2012, organized by Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, IEEE Bangladesh Section, BUET.

2. Prize winner for thesis work and poster presentation on “Guiding Properties of Side-Hole Optical Fiber Considering Stress -Optic Effects.” In EUProw 2009 (EEE Undergraduate Project Workshop 2009) organized by EEE, BUET.
