Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Observed National Mourning Day 2022

On the occasion of the 47th martyrdom anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and the National Mourning Day, a discussion meeting organized by the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) at the Prof. M. Safiullah Auditorium of the institute, August 29, 2022.

Honorable Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was present as the Chief Guest.

Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, the eldest son of August 15 martyr Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani and Arju Mani Serniabat and chairman of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, spoke as the main discussant in the discussion meeting.

Professor Mohammad A. Momen, Director, IBA, University of Dhaka was the President of the discussion meeting and MBA Program Coordinator Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Kabir gave the welcome address and moderated the program.

The discussion started with one-minute silence as a mark of respect for the Father of the Nation and other martyrs of 15 August 1975.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman paid deep respect to the immortal memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said that Bangabandhu wanted to build a liberal, non-sectarian, humanistic and inclusive developed society. He said, Bangabandhu's dream of Sonar Bangla should be built through new innovations and research. For this purpose, he called upon the teachers to be more innovative. He appealed to the young generation to turn the grief of August 15 should be converted into strength and work for the welfare of the neglected, underprivileged, poor and helpless people.

Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash described the brutal murder of August 15 and said, "We grew up with the fear and horror of losing our parents at the age of 5 years. We were not defeated by any adversity. The young generation should learn from these incidents and come forward to establish a progressive, humane, non-communal and justice-based society.”

Addressing the present students, Director of IBA Professor Mohammad A. Momen memorized his family member’s struggles and experiences during the liberation war. He shed light on Bangabandhu's glorious life and achievements. Explained his endless works for the rights of the people and for the country. Discussed the life struggle, work and ideology, uncompromising patriotism, finesse diplomacy, ethics and integrity, passion for democracy, futuristic and visionary leadership, and his non-negotiable fights for a just and equal society.

Among others, all faculty members of IBA, Students, all officers, and staff of IBA were present in the program.
