IBA, DU Emerges as Champions at the Most Coveted Business Case Competition in the Country 

IBA bags the Championship for the Business Case Competition 2023 organized by IBA in collaboration with HSBC and makes its way to the regional rounds of the competition to represent Bangladesh globally. 

The grand finale on 12th May, 2023 marked the end of one of the coveted Business Case Competition 2023, organized by IBA in collaboration with HSBC. This year’s National Finale was held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka, and Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Principal Secretary, Prime Minister's Office graced the ceremony as the Chief guest at the event. Special guest Abu Farah Md. Nasser, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Md Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh and Prof. Mohammad A. Momen, Director, Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University were all in attendance for the conclusion of the most celebrated business case competition in the country. 

This year marks a significant milestone for the competition as it marks the 10th rendition of the Business Case Competition organized by IBA in collaboration with HSBC. The competition is a symbol for the long running collaboration between IBA and HSBC to provide talented young minds of our country with a platform to exhibit and hone their skills. 

Continuing the legacy of IBA, Team Khichuri from IBA BBA 28th batch, consisting of Mohtasim Bin Habib, Mashrif Hasan Adib, Abir Ershad and Shubhashish Chakraborty, emerged as this year’s champions and secured the Gold Award. This marks the 7th gold win for IBA in the competition. Team Khichuri will be representing IBA and Bangladesh in the Regional Rounds of the Business Case Competition and competing against the champion teams from other Asian countries. Team Navigators from Bangladesh University of Professionals and Team Taking Over from the Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka were the 1st and 2nd Runner-Up respectively. 

The competition this year was rigorous, with 40 teams from 19 universities across Bangladesh competing for the top position. After facing each other in the two National Rounds of the competitions, the top five teams competed at the finale for the ultimate prize. The esteemed panel of judges for this year’s final round of the competition consisted of Zahidul Islam - Managing Director, Bayer CropScience Limited, Uzma Chowdhury - Finance Director, PRAN-RFL Group, Dr. Anil Kumar Das - National Program Consultant, FAO Bangladesh; and Syed Javed Noor - Deputy Managing Director, IDLC Finance Limited. 

IBA congratulates the winning team and wishes them the very best for the upcoming rounds of the competition, where they will be competing against the champions from other Asian countries.
