IBA, DU Continues the Championship at the Most Prestigious Business Case Competition in the Country

IBA emerged victorious at the Business Case Competition 2024 organized by IBA in collaboration with HSBC and secured their place in the competition's regional rounds, allowing them to represent Bangladesh on a global stage.

The prestigious Business Case Competition 2024, organized by IBA in collaboration with HSBC came to an end with the grand finale on 6th May, 2024. This year’s National Finale was held at Aloki Convention center, Dhaka, and Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah, Principal Secretary, Prime Minister's Office was the Chief guest at the event. Special guest Md Habibur Rahaman, deputy governor, Bangladesh Bank, Md Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh and Prof. Mohammad A. Momen, Director, Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University graced the ceremony with their presence as well.

This year's competition marks another milestone in the longstanding partnership between IBA and HSBC. The Business Case Competition serves as a valuable platform for nurturing the skills of Bangladesh's brightest young minds.

Continuing the legacy of IBA, Pixie Dust from IBA BBA 29th batch, consisting of Maisha Islam Monamee, Hridita Islam, Syeda Ramisa Munia and Al Nafee Ibna Siddique, emerged as this year’s champions and secured the Gold Award. This marks the 8th gold win for IBA in the competition. Pixie Dust will be representing IBA and Bangladesh in the Regional Rounds of the Business Case Competition and competing against the champion teams from other Asian countries. Pardon Us, Coming Through from Bangladesh University of Professionals and Team Malta from the North South University were the 1st and 2nd Runner-Up respectively.

The competition this year was a fierce battleground for talent. 40 universities across Bangladesh sent their brightest teams to compete for the top spot. These teams faced off in two National Rounds, with only the top five advancing to the grand finale. The esteemed panel of judges for this year’s final round of the competition consisted of Dan Pasha, director, trade and investment, British High Commission Dhaka, Ahmed Reza, country director, Cathay Pacific, and Kashef Rahman, founder, ShareTrip, Shamima Akhter, director, corporate affairs, marketing, partnership, Unilever Bangladesh Ltd, and Riad Mamun Prodhani, VP and GM at Novo Nordisk Bangladesh.

Sending their champion team off in high spirits, IBA extends its congratulations and unwavering support. The team now sets its sights on the regional rounds, where they'll face off against fellow champions from across Asia.
